Membership Policy

The minimum requirements for membership of The Association are:

  • Commitment to The Association's Mission Statement, Constitution and Operating Standards
  • Currently living and working as a professional Golf Course Architect in Scotland

AND

OR
  • A UK degree or equivalent in a related subject supported by evidence of sufficient experience of Golf Course Architecture work carried out to the required standards in Scotland as follows:
    • Enhancing the design quality of existing golf courses
    • The development of new courses/holes/features

An applicant who satisfies the above membership criteria shall be known as a Member of the Scottish Association of Golf Course Architects. There will be no other category of membership.

A register of members will be held by the Committee and displayed on the website.

Members of The Association will be offered membership on an annual basis. Membership will be confirmed on receipt of the required fee prior to the due date. The Committee reserves the right not to renew membership to any member who, it is deemed, has failed to meet the minimum requirements during the previous 12 months.

Accredited Qualifications:

MSc in Golf Course Architecture (Edinburgh College of Art)

Educational Vocational Qualification in Golf Course Design (EIGCA)
