Bunker upgrades at Longniddry G.C

Following a Course Appraisal Document prepared in 2012, The Longniddry Golf Club have been gradually implementing the proposed improvement works highlighted in that document.

To date mowing lines have been altered, encroaching vegetation removed and numerous bunkers have either been upgraded or replaced to improve the playing strategy and aesthetic appeal of the golf course.

This winter the focus of work shifted to the 15th hole where the fairway bunkering needed both re-positioning and a fresh look. In February Glen Golf Design Principal went back to the Club to oversee these alterations. During just two days of intense on site time and working alongside the in-house team, 3 new bunkers were constructed and all re-turfing work was completed in under a week.  The new turf around the bunkers is now growing in and the club expects to have the bunkers back in play by May.

To make sure that the potential of this hole is realised new mowing lines are also being implemented which will ensure that the playing strategy and visual appeal of the hole is maximized.
